As of May 2026, the free tier for the X (Twitter) API is effectively discontinued. There was already a limit of 17 tweets per 24 hours, now the pay per use model does not work as we have no adverts and no income is generated here. These automated posts are also not really what social media in general is about, and has not proved they add anything with little referral traffic, a bit pointless in reality.

We did look at Bluesky a while back, it's API uses the Bluesky/ATProtocol and there were not many java classes on maven that do this. Using curl would be too painful. We have been watching kbsky on github so may try it out. Hopefully this should not take too long to do.

If this search term does not work, what hope is there for other manufacturers. It highlights the importance of your own website/blog with good SEO, and not to rely too much on social media.

It appears from the FB help on search:

Facebook search results are based on your Facebook activity. Facebook search results aren't influenced by activity off Facebook.

In the past this was not the case and the sitewide search was quite good. Alas now it is a total waste of time.
